In 2005, the Food Guide Pyramid received a face lift, a name change, and a new concept was introduced:

The new concept includes personalized eating plans and interactive tools. MyPyramid is intended to help people make smarter food choices, find balance between what they eat and their activity level, and learn how to maintain a healthy amount of calorie intake with the best possible nutrients.
